The most successful of the bunch

After the Symbian consortium formed, each single member wanted their own slice of a pie. While the operating system itself had its roots in PDAs and therefore was adapted for touchscreen and keyboard input, nothing prevented it from using the core with a different UI. That being said, Nokia took another path and created Series 60, the user interface made for smartphones that look like regular feature phones, but can run native apps, which eventually turned into a big success. Only to lose momentum and disappear a decade after.
