Hobbies related to collecting have a peculiar way of softening the brain: once you start, it’s nearly impossible to stop. There’s a hunt, an excitement in it. Finding a rare item feels akin to discovering a wild strawberry patch in the middle of a dense forest and binging on berries until you’re sick with diarrhea and cramps (and yes, that’s happened to me): you know it might harm you in some way, that there’s almost no benefit from it, but you simply can’t deny yourself the pleasure!

Old mobile phones, to me, are not electronic waste. They are little portals to the past, where life was simple and predictable: where you didn’t have to sort daily catastrophes in your mind by priority, where the only obligations were to show up on time at work and university, and finally, where buying a new or used phone was an epochal event, a true milestone.

This website is an online exhibition of my already quite large collection, with each device holding some personal memories for me. I remember spending hours, days, and even weeks on modding and flashing mobile phones, reading reviews and tech news cover to cover in anticipation of the next marvel, and dreaming of owning the most powerful smartphones and PDAs. I can’t simply discard all this baggage, so I decided to preserve a piece of the past and show it to you.
